Whales!

This is the time of the year that I find that I have a little more wiggle room in the afternoons for some fun learning with my students.  Most of the holidays are over and the testing is winding down.  I love to pick a subject that my students are fascinated with (whales) and teach across the curriculum.  We creative write, review math concepts, research, use graphs and Venn diagrams, etc.  all while learning about whales!

There are so many wonderful books available about whales.  Baby Whales Drink Milk and Humpback Goes North to name just a couple.   I measure and cut a piece of string that is 100 feet long and we go out to the playground to stretch it out to see how long a blue whale can grow to be.  The students walk up and down the string and imagine they're swimming with the whale.

I  created this whale unit so that I can share the fun with your classroom!

My Future is Looking Bright! End of the year craft/ writing mobile

A fun end of the year mobile.  I love to have this hanging in my classroom when I have my moms come in for Muffins with Mom and my dads come in for Donuts with Dad.
It's another freebie!!!

Earth Day! Writing, crafts, and get out of your seat Fun activities!

I am so excited to share some of the fun activities that I have been using in my classroom over the past few years!  Many of these activities will have your students outside picking up litter, tallying it up, and graphing it, walking around the classroom and talking about earth activities with their peers - and really thinking about conservation issues.  Not to mention, a lot of fun craft and writing activities - enough to fill up your halls!

Follow this link and have fun!  I hope you love it!
