Love You Forever by: Robert Munsch Valentine's Day Fun!

Last week I was creating a sub tub for the possibility of me getting the flu and this week I had the flu!   I think I jinxed myself by creating a sub tub.   So as you can imagine, it took me a little longer to get this fun Valentine's Day product posted.
Love You Forever.  Do you read this classic to your class?   Can you read it without crying?!  I LOVE this book.   I even created a tune to go with the momma's song she sings to her boy while rocking him.  The students think the book is hilarious and hang on each word.
So, I created some fun activities to supplement this story and I even threw in some fun Valentine's Day crafts to make life easy on you.  Enjoy!

Sub Tub! Emergency sub plans

The flu has been awful this year!  I have had students coughing and sneezing on me ... it's just a matter of time before I catch something.  I decided I needed to get my emergency lesson plans ready to go.

I copied off the various papers so that I had enough for my class and filed them in my tub along with an example of each activity.  I included three fun substitute books that can be used along with the story structure and cause and effect lessons.  I filled out my sub lesson plans for each day of the week so that the sub knows all of our specials, what I use in the class to grab the students attention, what I do if students misbehave, how we open the mornings, how we wrap up our days, and what the students can do if they finish their work early.  I left my sub tub where it is easy to find and made sure my team teacher knows where it is located in case of an emergency.   I am now ready for anything!   Grab your sub tub below ...

Parent Gift

A fun parent gift I found on Pinterest.  Snow globe ornaments.  They turned out so cute - I wanted to share.  I used ornaments that snap together.  I had the students put on their winter coats, hats, and gloves.  I had them stand in front of a white sheet of paper.  It was a bit time consuming to cut them out, but I watched a Christmas movie on T.V. and it went by pretty quickly.  I bent the bottom of their legs and hot glued them to the bottom of one half of the globe.  I then added the fake snow and silver glitter - about two pinches.  I snapped the ornament together using a little hot glue at four different points to make sure it would stay together. I hot glued a bow to the top and later added some wire to hang it.  So adorable!
