I wanted to share a cute writing / craft project I do each year! It's a layered book. There are patterns for the leprechaun and for the grass in the packet but I like to let my first graders create their own leprechauns. I also give them the green paper with the horizontal line and let them create their own grass. Whatever you feel comfortable with letting them do! There are three styles of writing paper as well. It makes an adorable display!

As promised ... a cute writing project that you can use for the 100 Days of School .... and it's a freebie!
Everyone dressed up as if we were 100 years old. We even did a 100 balloon pop with tally marks for every balloon popped!
There are so many ideas and free downloads you can find for this fun day. If you want to make it easy for yourself... click on my Pinterest button above and click on my 100 days of school folder.
You can also go to my TpT store and find the When I'm 100 Years Old writing paper - it's a free download!
As always - have fun!

Valentines
Did you make your Valentines yet? I had Parent/Teacher conferences today until 7 pm tonight. I then had to run to the store to pick up things to make my Valentines for my class and for my own children to make for their classes. All our parties are tomorrow since there is not school on Friday. It has been a long stressful week!
My daughter wanted to make a melting snowman with large and small marshmallows, pretzel sticks, large and small chocolate chips for eyes and buttons, and candy corn for the nose ... check out my Pinterest Link for the example I found on line. It's under my Valentines link. The label reads, "Valentine, My Heart Melts for You"
My son loves Bigfoot so we made labels that said, "Kisses from Bigfoot". We attached Hershey Kisses of course.
I found these drinks at Walmart called Little Hugs. So I threw them in a bag with a few Hershey Kisses with a label that says, "A Little Hug and Kisses! Happy Valentine's Day!"
I bought some clear bags at the dollar store.

Groundhog's Day!?
I can't believe it's Groundhog's Day tomorrow! A little closer to spring. :) I wanted to do something fun with my class tomorrow and thought I would share it with you! It's a freebie! You can find it in my TpT store - just follow the link above. A teacher friend of mine used to take her class outside to see if the groundhog could see its shadow... such a cute idea. Here's my version of that activity with a newspaper writing project to go with it!
